Four of Poker’s Nice Players

Literally millions of people want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of 4 of the more well known "charming guys" of the game. Although "nice" is associated with their names when you are facing them it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the competition!

Daniel Negreanu

In Two Thousand and Four, his tourney earnings amounted to more than $4.4 million and he captured 2 highly respected awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In February Two Thousand and Six he was chosen Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He even still has the humility to speak to his fans about how they might improve their own game.

Howard Lederer

Known as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His achievements have allowed him to make an instructional video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his total life earnings exceed $2.7 million.

Scotty Nguyen

Scotty is one of the busiest players in poker and between Two Thousand and 2004 he placed in the money in more than one hundred events. He’s notorious for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also credited with the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad loss. As of Two Thousand and Six, his life time winnings are almost 6 million dollars.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has captured five WSOP titles with two of his wins happening in 2003. Has the nickname "Jesus" because of his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to toss playing cards fast enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of Two Thousand and Five his total poker tourney earnings exceeded five million dollars.
