NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the detrimental comments from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil began playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is very humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
