Fix Attention on Annie Duke
Annie Duke mightn’t have won her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she is still one of the most powerful poker competitors around the ring games at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "young crowd" of poker go berserk following a big success at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. She hails from NH and was raised into a family of card players. If you do not accept that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her how to compete in the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has captured her share of difficult games, including eliminating Howard a few times on numerous occasions.
Earning over $3 million in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his techniques and become a big player in poker.
You may encounter Annie at the Bellagio, you will catch her on TV and you might just even play with her in an online poker match, but do not expect a simple win. Unless you are a rising star, you’ll not beat her. although, it is likely to be cool to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
